Microsoft Education Professional Learning Program 2023

Microsoft Education Australia and New Zealand are excited to announce the 2023 Professional Learning Program. We are pleased to offer a range of free professional development virtual workshops for teachers, leaders, and IT pros that will run over the course of the 2023 school year. Our program is two-tiered this year.

Tier 1: Become a Microsoft Educator in Term 1 and 2, 2023

In Term 1 and 2, we run a range of virtual workshops that allow teachers to become a certified Microsoft Educator. These workshops are curated into academies that will allow your staff to learn about Microsoft technologies in education to empower themselves and their students. By upskilling your staff early in the year, you will be set to complete the School Transformation Program later in the year if you choose to.

Teacher Academies on offer in Term 1 and 2:

Attendees will be able to redeem their Microsoft Educator Badge on the Microsoft Learn Educator Centre at the completion of any of the academies below.

Microsoft Educator Academy

• Microsoft Teams for all modes of learning
• Get started with OneNote
• Build the foundation for inclusive learning
• Empower every student with an inclusive classroom
• Flipped instruction with PowerPoint recorder

Microsoft 365 Teacher Academy

• Structure Teams through channels, tabs, files, and apps
• Assign and assets learners with Assignments and Forms in Teams
• Converse, collaborate, and build community in Teams
• Get started with OneNote
• OneNote Class Notebook: A teacher’s all-in-one notebook for students
• Flipped instruction with PowerPoint recorder
• Create authentic assessments with Microsoft Forms
• Digital storytelling with Microsoft Sway

Minecraft Education Teacher Academy

• Minecraft 101: Let’s build individually
• Minecraft 201: Let’s modify together
• Minecraft 301: Let’s build worlds together
• Introduce coding in Minecraft Education

Register below for all workshops within a Teacher Academy or to customise your own Professional Learning program. All sessions will be presented by our amazing Education Success Managers who are all past teachers and have a wealth of knowledge to share.

Tier 2: The Microsoft School Transformation Program Term 3 and 4, 2023

During Term 3 and 4 the Microsoft School Transformation Program is offered to support schools to digitally transform using Microsoft technologies. A school who signs up to the program commits to school-wide change and will send leaders, teachers and IT pros to workshops that will support their transformation.

All workshops with the School Transformation Program will be aligned to the Microsoft Education Transformation Framework which is a guide for education leaders to navigate the complexity of transformation impacting every aspect of their mission. It facilitates the process of envisioning what’s possible and developing a strategy to achieve it.

Your school will also choose a team of teachers/leaders/IT to complete workshops aligned to your choice of pathway. These groups will develop a strategy, implementation plan, professional learning experiences, and a horizon plan for either a 1:1 devices program in your school, or a plan for implementing M365/Teams as a teaching and learning platform, or to take your school on a journey where ICT is truly embedded in teaching and learning. Schools join the School Transformation Program at different stages of their ICT journey, so we aim to cater for this with the choice of pathway.
