June TweetMeet: Skilling Up

We’re almost at the end of another fantastic school year, so it’s time to take a breath and look back on a year of learning, innovation, and finding new, creative ways to empower learning. On June 4th at 3:30 PM PDT | 6:30 PM EDT, we’re hosting a Twitter chat that’s giving teachers across Canada the chance to reflect on what they’ve learned this year, and how they hope to grow in the year to come. What technologies worked best for your students? What new innovations ignited their passion for inquiry? Where were the challenges, and what can you do to overcome them? Where would you like to take your teaching next year?
We have the perfect set of hosts for this topic: the Technology Implementation team from British Columbia’s School District 43 – Coquitlam. These education innovators work with teachers across their board to implement edtech in their classrooms, so they’re experts on skilling up, and they’re excited to share tips, resources, and their own learning from the year. Meet the team!

What are #MSFTEduChat Canada TweetMeets?
Every month, Microsoft in Education Canada organizes a social event on Twitter for Canadian educators. The hashtag we use is #MSFTEduChat. A team of topic-specialists prepares and hosts these TweetMeets together. They craft questions around a certain theme and share them on Twitter, then our digital attendees strike up a conversation on that topic.
All you have to do is keep an eye on the hashtag and contribute any insights, ideas, or expertise to the conversation. Or you can just listen in! It’s a great way to connect and learn.
The easiest way to keep on top of the conversation is by using TweetDeck. Our friend Marjolein Hoekstra created a quick tutorial to help her OneNote Education TweetMeet attendees. It’s a tool that’ll help you follow the hashtag #MSFTEduChat and engage with fellow participants.
